Meet the Musician
Chief Musician Benjamin L. Bransford III,
Associate Enlisted Conductor, Tenor
Chief Musician Benjamin Bransford, a native of Hurst, Texas, joined the Navy Band in 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance, a Bachelor of Music in education, and a Master of Music in choral conducting from Texas Tech University. He studied voice at Texas Tech with Grammy Award winning tenor, Karl Dent, and studied opera and music theater with the world-renowned operatic baritone, Gerald Dolter. While attending Texas Tech, Bransford was a member of the internationally recognized Texas Tech University Choir under the direction of John Dickson, and he sang with this ensemble throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. He was also involved in the Texas Tech University Music Theater program, where he played Tony in West Side Story, Matt in The Fantasticks, and Jack in Into the Woods.
In the future, Bransford plans on pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts and teaching at the collegiate level. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and setting out on camping and hiking trips.
