Brass Quintet

Established in 1971, the U.S. Navy Band Brass Quintet has performed at libraries, museums, colleges and high schools throughout the metropolitan Washington area, including performances as part of the band's "Music in the Schools" program. The quintet has also appeared locally as part of the band's annual Saxophone Symposium at George Mason University, inaugural events for both President Bush and Vice President Cheney, ceremonies at the White House, the National Cathedral, and most notably, on the national television broadcast of NBC's "Meet the Press." In demand across the country, the group has performed clinics and recitals at the Armed Forces School of Music, Morgan State University and at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. Recently, the quintet was invited to perform for the dedication of the Margaret Chase Smith Memorial Library in Maine.
The quintet's repertoire includes
works from the 16th through the 20th centuries, with many of the
compositions arranged by its members. Directed by Chief
Musician David
E. Kolo, French horn, the quintet
includes Musicians 1st Class Brandon Z. Almagro and Christopher M. Sala,
trumpets, Colin J. Wise, trombone, and James H. Hicks, tuba.
Quintet members are often featured
