Meet the Musician
Musician 1st Class Daniel D. Frazelle,
Musician 1st Class Daniel Frazelle is a native Washingtonian hailing from Alexandria, Va. Prior to joining the Navy Band in 2007, Frazelle earned a Bachelor of Music in music education from James Madison University and a Master of Music in clarinet performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He has performed with the Naples (Fla.) Philharmonic and Evansville Philharmonic orchestras, as well as the Texas Festival Orchestra and the Heritage Repertory Theater in Charlottesville, Va. His primary instructors include Richie Hawley, Steven Cohen, Janice L. Minor, Marguerite Levin, and D. Ray McClellan.
Frazelle has been a member of the Concert Band stage crew for two years. He has served as a clarinet instructor at The Bullis School in Potomac, Md., and is a private teacher throughout the National Capital Region. He has also given masterclasses in numerous high schools in Fairfax County, Va., and at Towson University. In his free time, he is an avid sports fan and enjoys reading scientific and skeptical literature.
