Chief Musician Eric Moore, a native of Falls Church, Va., joined the Navy Band in 1993. He earned both a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Boston University, graduating cum laude in both programs. He also received a Master of Music in horn performance from the University of Texas at Austin. An active performer, he has regularly performed with the National, Austin, Arlington, Maryland, Harrisburg and Fairfax Symphonies and was also a member of the Austin Lyric Opera Orchestra. Moore currently serves as principal horn with the Fairfax Symphony and has appeared as a soloist with the Navy Band as well as the Fairfax and Arlington Symphony Orchestras. He has served as president of the Falls Church Chamber Orchestra for nine years, an ensemble which he founded. His former teachers include Wayne Barrington, Jay Wadenpfuhl, Michael Hatfield and Scott Fearing.
Moore greatly enjoys teaching and is currently on the faculty at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
