The Navy Band's current "Music in the Schools" program has brought concerts and demonstrations to hundreds of schools in the Washington, D.C. area since 1991. Entertaining and informative, these presentations are designed to complement music curricula in area schools.
Members of the "Country Current" country-bluegrass group offer the sounds of country and bluegrass music to elementary students in programs that include sing-alongs and guitar and fiddle demonstrations.

The "Sea Chanters" chorus presents sea chanteys, spirituals, patriotic and popular songs for elementary students, adding jazz and Broadway favorites for older age groups.
Navy Band chamber groups demonstrate to young students the fascinating musical possibilities of specific instrumental combinations. Currently, available ensembles include Brass Quartet, Brass Quintet, “Harbor Winds” Clarinet Quartet and the “Windjammers” woodwind quintet.
Navy Band performers are also available for clinics, workshops, sectionals and appearances as guest soloists. We look forward to the opportunity to bring our "Music in the Schools" program to your school.
