Navy Birthday Concert
The combined units of the United States Navy Band combine each year to present the Navy Birthday Concert. This outstanding concert displays the versatility of the Navy Band through collaborative performances of original musical arrangements of many popular songs, soundtrack highlights, jazz standards and more! Featured units of the Navy Band include the Concert Band, the Sea Chanters chorus, the Country Current and the Cruisers. This event is hosted by the Chief of Naval Operations and serves as the main celebration of the birthday of the United States Navy.
Past events have highlighted the global reach and diversity of the United States Navy. 2011 marked the opportunity to recognize the 100th anniversary of naval aviation with an event that celebrated everything from its birth with Eugene Ely’s inaugural flight off the deck of a ship in his Curtiss pusher biplane to its present with the Blue Angels. The tremendous flexibility of the Navy Band allows for a fun and exciting show for families and service members.
The Navy Birthday Concert takes place in October each year. The concert is free to the public, but tickets are usually required. For ticket and other information leading up to the event, please visit us here or follow us on our Facebook page. In the meantime, please feel free to visit the Naval History and Heritage Command's website for more information on the Navy's Birthday. We look forward to celebrating with you!
