Meet the Musician
Musician 1st Class Kristin A. Pagent,
Musician 1st Class Kristin Pagent, a native of the Chicago suburb Wheaton, Ill., joined the Navy Band in January 2000. She earned a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University in 1999 in vocal performance, studying with Bruce Hall, and was a member of the University Chorale and Chamber Singers under the direction of Robert Harris. She performed with the a capella group, Thunk, across the Chicagoland area and on two east coast tours. As the group’s director for two years, she arranged eight songs that are recorded on three compact discs through Northwestern’s Arts Alliance. Pagent has also performed with the NU Vocal Jazz Ensemble, including performances with Max Roach and Bobby McFerrin. Her other teachers include Ramona Quinn Wiss, Catherine Cacavallo, Tony Garcia and Carmen Ballthrop.
A versatile musician, Pagent is a frequent Sea Chanter soloist, performs as a soloist with the Concert Band, and has taught young music students voice and cello. In addition to her vocal performance duties, she serves as the command’s assistant DAPA, assisting with drug and alcohol information and training. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, knitting, and training for triathlons.
