Benefitting the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Fund Drive
Each year the Navy Band hosts a silent auction to raise funds for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, an organization which has impacted the lives of Sailors and Marines for more than 100 years. Usually held in April, the auction is free and open to anyone with access to DoD facilities. Participants can bid on as many items as they choose, and group bidding is permitted for higher priced items. Winners do not have to be present to win, but payments must be made by either cash or check by the close of the auction. Prizes must be claimed within 90 days, with some exceptions. The NMCRS is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is “to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational and other need-based assistance to active-duty and retired Sailors and Marines, their eligible family members and survivors.” With more than 250 locations worldwide, NMCRS offers interest-free loans, grants and scholarships, as well as visiting nurse services, “seabags” for infants, local thrift shops, and budget counseling and food lockers in some locations. Silent Auction Rules
To place a bid, clearly print your name and contact information next to your bid.
Preprinted prices on bid sheets CANNOT be modified, crossed out, or otherwise altered.
If a bid is disqualified, the item will be offered to the next eligible bidder.
All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds permitted. Items may be gifted.
Services must be scheduled around band members’ performance schedules and national tours. Please note that some items require additional preparation time.
All services, except when noted, must be redeemed or arrangements made with the band member within 90 days and are limited to a 50 mile radius of the WNY.
In the event of a dispute the auction coordinator will have final authority and will determine the winning bid.
Group bidding is welcome and encouraged for larger items. One person, however, must be responsible for bidding and payment.
Payments can be made by either check or EXACT cash. Please make all checks payable to Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
If a bidder wins multiple items at the auction, a total amount will be calculated for a single payment.
The closing bid, circled in red by a Navy Band representative, will constitute the winning bid.
Tax deduction receipts will be provided for all auction winners.
