The subject of his doctoral dissertation was the saxophone concerto by the Swedish composer Lars-Erik Larsson, its relevance to the development of the saxophone repertoire, as well as its place in the history of the concerto genre. Lundegård has composed a number of pieces for saxophone and piano. His album "Tasteful Suite" features exclusively his compositions.
