The George Mason University Saxophone Quartet features undergraduate music students David Anderson, Ariel Williams, Ava Oaxaca and Seika Van Keuren, under the direction of professors Ed Fraedrich and Rick Parrell. In addition to performing a semesterly recital at GMU, the quartet has premiered new music at the quarterly Snapshot Conference hosted by the Society of Composers, Inc., performed a program at the 39th Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, participated in a masterclass with the Barkada Quartet and was selected for the 2017 GMU Honors Recital. The group also gives performances within the local Northern Virginia community—presenting a recital to the Ashby Ponds Retirement Community.
