Biography

The Zelos Quartet is dedicated to performing a wide array of repertoire ranging from underrepresented contemporary works to transcriptions from the baroque, classical and romantic eras. They are also committed to performing on saxophones that fit the acoustical specifications of its inventor, Adolphe Sax. Zelos has participated in summer music festivals such as Festival South (Hattiesburg, Mississippi) and the National Music Festival (Chestertown, Maryland). The Zelos Quartet has been extensively coached by the Mana Quartet, Verona String Quartet and Amethyst Quartet. Having recently placed in the MTNA California chamber music competition, the Zelos quartet performs frequently in NASA conferences. This group looks to connect with a variety of audiences by showing the wide range of sounds and colors on the saxophone. The Zelos Quartet performs regularly throughout the San Francisco Bay area in California.
