Known for her “sophisticated sound spectrum” and “enthralling performance,” Diane Hunger is recognized internationally and performs frequently as soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and America. Recently she was a soloist with the Hamburger Symphoniker (Germany), the Filarmonica Banatul (Romania) premiering the Tenor Saxophone Concerto by Kalevi Aho, and the Lubbock Symphony (Texas) giving the American premiere of Sally Beamish’s quartet concerto with the Mana Quartet. She performed at the World Saxophone Congress in France with a world premiere of a new quartet by Swedish composer Mika Pelo and in Syracuse, New York, with a premiere of the chamber concerto for alto saxophone “Remembering the Night Sky” by Stephen Ferre. Hunger is a member of the Mana Quartet and currently teaches at Syracuse University and the State University of New York at Fredonia. She is a D’Addario performing artist, performing on Reserve Reeds exclusively.
