Biography


Garret Klauss is an aspiring young musician from Michigan with a passion for the saxophone repertoire. He is a fourth year student attending Oakland University under the instruction of Professor Jeffery Heisler. He has traveled and performed in the past at the United States Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium as well as at the North American Saxophone Alliance Regional Conference. Klauss has also had the privilege to study with Marie-Bernadette Charrier at the International Edmonton Saxophone Academy and was a winner in the Oakland Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition. He has performed with the Oakland University Wind Symphony, OU Jazz Band and the OU New Music Ensemble. Klauss has commissioned works from Ian Deterling and Guillermo Lago, as well as premiered saxophone quartet works from Ian Lester and Roger Braun.
