Biography


Russell Haight is an assistant professor of saxophone and the director of jazz studies at Texas State University. He maintains a busy performance schedule and has played throughout the U.S., Canada, South America and China. He has performed with luminaries such as Bobby Shew, Butch Miles, Kirk Covington, Vincent Herring, Ralph Bowen, Doug Lawrence, Shelly Berg, Tim Hagans, Eric Johnson, Andre Hayward, Rufus Reid, Bill Watrous and the late George Duke. He earned a doctoral degree in jazz performance from the University of Texas at Austin.
