Meet the Musician

Musician 1st Class Allison Fletcher,


MU1 Allison Fletcher

Musician 1st Class Allison Fletcher, of Forest, Virginia, joined the Navy Band in July 2014 and serves as flutist in the Concert Band and the Navy Band Woodwind Quintet. Prior to joining the Navy Band, she served as a flutist with the 43rd Army Band of the Nebraska National Guard.

Fletcher received a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from James Madison University in 2002, a Master of Music in flute performance from Southern Methodist University in 2004 and a Doctor of Musical Arts in flute performance in 2008 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where her DMA research covered the historic and stylistic analysis of 10 orchestral piccolo excerpts. She has performed with Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra and presented flute classes and recitals across the state of Nebraska. Her Concerts-on-the-Platte Guest Artist Recital at the University of Nebraska-Kearney in February 2012 was broadcast on the program “Nebraska Concerts” on NET Radio, Nebraska's NPR station.

In her free time she enjoys running and cooking.
