Senior Chief Musician Adam K. Grimm,
Public Affairs Officer
Senior Chief Musician Adam Grimm, a native of Forest Hill, Maryland, is the Navy Band's public affairs officer, overseeing the command's public affairs, visual information and marketing programs. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mass communication (strategic public relations and integrated communication) from Towson University, where he was a member of the national communication honor society, Lambda Pi Eta, and a Master of Science in integrated marketing communication from West Virginia University. Grimm is also a graduate of the Public Affairs Qualification Course (honor graduate) and Visual Information Management Course at the Defense Information School, based at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. He is a 2012 Russell Egnor Navy Media Award recipient.
Grimm joined the Navy Band in 2001 as a saxophonist in the Concert/Ceremonial Band. He completed his bachelor's degree in music at Towson University, where he studied saxophone with David Stambler and Joseph Briscuso. He has performed with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the O'Jays, Claudio Roditi, Gabrielle Goodman, Scott Baker, the Artie Shaw Big Band, and others. Grimm was also a founding member of the Old Line Quartet, a Washington-based jazz saxophone quartet, and he is a former faculty member of the Friends School of Baltimore and the Towson University preparatory division.
In his free time, Grimm enjoys spending time with his family and embarking on the occasional caving excursion.
