Meet the Musician
Musician 1st Class Timothy A. Hill,
Musician 1st Class Tim Hill, originally from Waynesburg, Pa., joined the Navy Band in July 2012. He received a Bachelor of Music Education from West Virginia University where he graduated magna cum laude. While at WVU, he studied arranging with John Hendricks and saxophone with Curtis Johnson. He has received commissions to compose and arrange new works for band ranging from elementary to the collegiate level.
Prior to joining the Navy Band, Hill taught high school jazz ensemble and middle school general music. In 2006 he traveled to Krakow, Poland, where he taught at the International Summer Jazz Academy and performed on Polish Jazz Radio.
In his free time he enjoys playing billiards, spending time with family and friends, and visiting the national monuments and museums in the Washington, D.C., area.
