Senior Chief Musician Trent R. Turner,
Travel Program Director
Trent Turner, a native of Ladson, South Carolina, joined the Navy Band in 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University in 1994 and a Master of Music from Florida State University in 1996. His primary clarinet instructors were Eli Eban and Frank Kowalsky. As a student, he spent summers performing at the Chautauqua, Brevard, and Bowdoin Music Festivals. He has also performed with the Charleston, New Mexico, and Harrisburg Symphony Orchestras, along with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa in Mexico.
Senior Chief Turner began his Navy career in 1998 as a member of the United States Naval Academy Band in Annapolis, Maryland. While there, he performed frequently as Principal Clarinetist and was a member of the Cane Mutiny Clarinet Quartet. In 2002, he was selected as the Receiving Officer for the Navy Band. He also serves as the Education Services Officer, Silent Auction Coordinator, Command Security Clearance Manager, and Staff Awards Coordinator. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking and spending time with family.
